Ulticon Builders Inc. Sponsors the Pink Run CDO

The month of October is known as the Breast Cancer Awareness Month and Ulticon Builders Inc. seized this opportunity to demonstrate its concern for the wellbeing of the members of the community. Ulticon believes that education, awareness, and early detection are all equally important to prevent the disease that has plagued not only women but also men. That is why last October 12, 2014, in line with the theme “Save the boobies, RUN to your doctor now!”, Ulticon Builders Inc., headed by Carlos “Charlie” Gonzalez of Davao City, sponsored the CDO Pink Run 2014: D’Feeting Breast Cancer, one of the annual activities organized by Circle Productions.

THRIVE, the Cagayan de Oro Breast Cancer Awareness Advocacy Core Group, the Northern Mindanao Cancer Detection Center or NMCDC, the Philippine Society of General Surgeons, and Centrio Mall were behind the successful run event. Aside from Ulticon Builders Inc., other supporters included the following: ADDEX de Oro Enterprises, Arch. Heinrich & Mrs. Christine Joie Lim Ty, Cagayan Universal Hardware, Edna F. Shekker, Grandblocks Corporation, Human Heart Nature CDO, KAPHIDS Construction, Lifestyle District, Lifetime Study Center, Mr. & Mrs. Loi Obsioma, Mrs. Azucena Cadiz, Richard & Vel Emano, Spruce, Ulticon Builders, and Zonta Club International of CDO II.

Registration for the race started last September 22, 2014. There were four race categories from which the runners can choose: 1K, 3K, 5K, and 10K. The starting point was at the Centrio Mall and participants assembled themselves at 5 AM.  Simultaneous with the event was a free breast examination that took place at the Centrio Activity Center backstage.

CDO Pink run 2014 is just one of many campaigns for Breast Cancer Awareness in the month of October that intend to raise breast cancer awareness and encourage early screening and test.  In being one with the nation in celebrating Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Ulticon Builders, Inc. has shown that it is one with the men and women who are in their own bouts against the disease and it is a battle not only of the health sector but of the whole community as well.
