UBI Strengthen Data Privacy Training Across Departments

In its steadfast commitment to integrity and operational excellence, Ulticon Builders Inc., under the leadership of President and Chairman Carlos “Charlie” Gonzales, launched a series of Data Privacy Training sessions across all departments.

Spearheaded by Atty. Jayson G. Tan, UBI Legal Officer, the training series began on February 12, 2025, with the Human Resources Department as the first participant. Following the successful initial session, subsequent training was conducted for the IT, Internal Audit, Finance, Fleet Management, Purchasing, OSHE, Records, Operations, and Administrative Departments.

In total, seven comprehensive sessions were held, ensuring that all main office departments received proper orientation and awareness on data privacy standards, in alignment with the company’s core values and compliance initiatives.

The training aimed to educate employees on the principles and application of data privacy in the workplace. This emphasizes the importance of legal compliance and the responsibility of each employee in protecting personal and sensitive information across the organization.

Why Data Privacy Matters More Than Ever

In an increasingly digital business environment, every department plays a role in ensuring secure data practices. Whether managing employee records, financial reports, or system access — all teams contribute to maintaining trust and accountability within the organization.

These sessions were aligned with UBI’s ongoing efforts to cultivate a data-conscious culture and ensure full compliance with the Data Privacy Act of 2012. Employees actively engaged in the discussions by asking questions, sharing experiences, and connecting with the topic—making the sessions both interactive and meaningful.

On the other hand, Atty. Tan enriched the sessions by sharing real-life cases and relatable scenarios that helped participants better understand the importance of data privacy protection in the workplace.

Practical Takeaways for a Safer Workplace

The 2-hour training led by Atty. Tan outlined the legal risks of data mishandling, common operational oversights, and practical steps for improvement. Each department walked away with actionable strategies for:

● Protecting sensitive files
● Controlling access to confidential data
● Managing requests and disclosures responsibly
● Enhancing internal workflows for better compliance

As a result, UBI strengthened its internal safeguards and empowered key departments to become proactive defenders of privacy and information security. By investing in regular training and expert-led discussions, Ulticon continues to lead with intention—ensuring that its people, systems, and values evolve alongside modern business demands.
