Carlos “Charlie” Gonzalez of Ulticon Builders Incorporated based in Davao City, Philippines has always made it his mission to support the local organizations to help uplift the lives of its members and their respective families. Amongst the organizations that Ulticon Builders Incorporated supports is the MBFEA or the Mindanao Banana Farmers and Exporters Association, Inc. This association was founded in 2005 and the Board of Directors and members of the association primarily intends to uplift the plight of the small Filipino Cavendish Banana growers through the organization. The organization aims for the betterment of the banana industry.
Since their overall mission is in line with the principles of UBI, the company sought to help them in their projects. One of their projects was the MBFEA OPEN GOLF TOURNAMENT which was held on November 24, 2018. The tournament was intended to be a charity event with which part of the proceeds will be for the IP school children of Sitio Talos, Brgy. San Jose, Sto. Tomas, Davao del Norte. The tournament was held at the Apo Gold & Country Club, Inc. in Bago, Davao City, Philippines.
Ulticon Builders Incorporated sought to give aid by being a Platinum Sponsor for the said event. Why do you think they are so passionate to support these local associations? It’s because they want to put a halt to the old adage, “the rich get richer and the poor get poorer”. For Mr. Carlos “Charlie” Gonzalez of Ulticon Builders Incorporated, to ensure we don’t delay progress for everyone’s good and so we can put a stop to this vicious cycle, the key is uplifting those who are trying to make better lives for themselves and their families.
An avenue for this is to provide education and to help our young ones realize that they have the power to change the status quo, to dream and to rise up above every challenge that comes their way. However, this self-motivation can better be accomplished by more than just talk. That is why, Ulticon Builders Incorporated also sought to give them a helping hand to reach this dream. We should support our youth and support all the endeavors of all the communities that share our vision. Why? Because that’s what makes us Filipinos.
When the sun has set before one’s eyes, it reminds you of the immense color of gold which ignites an exhilarating and hopeful feeling from within. In August of 2018, the Asian Games in Indonesia, Jakarta was opened with an extravagant ceremony . A huge group of 2,000 synchronized school dancers performed on stage with their traditional Saman dance to enchant a huge crowd that filled the stadium. A spectacular display of colors, vibrant cultural shows and mesmerizing pyrotechnics lit up the event on a 120 metre long and 600 ton platform at Jakarta Gelora Bung Karno Main Sports Complex. Our Filipino athletes proudly competed for honor and their heart’s desire is to earn the elusive gold medal. In achieving this, they are well aware that it takes courage, perseverance, and passion, all for bringing great honor to our homeland.
Once again, to humbly support our Filipino athletes on their journey to triumph, Ulticon Builders Incorporated with our President Charlie Gonzalez of Davao, through Siklab Atleta Pilipinas Sports Foundation and other private organizations will award bonus cash prizes for our Filipino gold medallists of the 2018 Asian Games with P1 million, silver medallists with P500,000 and bronze medallists with P250,000. This humble contribution hopes to assist our athletes to build a better future for themselves, as well as to help encourage others that would like to compete in future international competitions to never delay on the path of achieving your hopes and dreams.

The world has taken us into a whirlwind of technological advancement. We certainly enjoy and reap the fruits of an easier and more comfortable life. Everything nowadays is more accessible and readily available. However, we can’t deny the fact that there are a few setbacks to this advancement we enjoy. We must admit, a lot of workers have been losing their jobs because of the very automation that technology brings. We also can’t avoid the fact that getting an education that can help us cope up with technology is costly and there are a lot of Filipino families that can’t afford it.
So what now? How can their sons and daughters get an edge and an upper hand among their peers? Thankfully, Ulticon Builders, Inc. has found a way to help out. Last 2017, they attended the annual Phil Construct Convention and came across Acreos Machines. Acreos is a company based in France and some of the products they offer are simulators for heavy machinery. These simulators became the obvious answer to their impending problem on employing heavy machinery operators who were experienced enough to do the job efficiently.
More than their dire need to hire competent operators, Carlo Lisandro Gonzalez of Ulticon Builders, son of Carlos “Charlie” Gonzalez also expressed the company’s sentiment of wanting to help the families of their employees. UBI saw this as a way of being able to educate the children of their employees for free and to offer them the opportunity of being hired at that.

Their desire to fulfill their corporate social responsibility led them to acquire two simulators with attachments for crane, excavators, pay loaders, bulldozers and road graders. The simulators arrived last February 2018 and Acreos sent a trainer to help assemble and teach UBI designated trainers to operate them. As a result, current employees who have children 18 years of age and above, who are at least high school graduates and who aspire to become operators are welcome to train for free using these simulators.
As of now, the simulators have already yielded a positive result. The employees of Carlos Gonzalez at Ulticon Builders Inc, in Davao are ecstatic about this wonderful addition to the company. Everyone has high hopes because their children can now have a shot at a better future not to mention Ulticon Builders also has the security of an endless pool of competent operators within their reach. It always pays to pay it forward.
