In line with its ongoing commitment to wellness and social responsibility, Ulticon Builders Inc. hosted a voluntary blood donation drive on April 4, 2024, at its main office in Maa, Davao City. Themed “Save Lives, Be a Hero!”, the event encouraged employees to take part in a simple yet meaningful act—donating blood to help those in need.
The initiative was held in partnership with the Southern Philippines Medical Center (SPMC) – Blood Production Services, and supported by the guidelines set forth in Republic Act No. 7719, also known as the National Blood Services Act of 1994. This law promotes safe, voluntary, and non-profit blood donation while instilling the value of compassion and humanitarian service in every Filipino.
As a long-time supporter of SPMC’s advocacy, Ulticon has consistently taken part in efforts that promote the health and well-being of both its employees and the greater community. This is part of the people-first approach strongly upheld by Carlos “Charlie” Gonzalez, President and Chairman of Ulticon Builders Inc.
The activity was preceded by a blood donation orientation on February 2, 2024, conducted by representatives from SPMC’s National Voluntary Blood Services Program. The session, held at the UBI Main Office Conference Room, featured guest speakers Ms. Maria Lourdes B. Guerra, Mr. Richard A. Dingding, Ms. Irene R. Camafia, and Mr. Janson Cajegas, who provided essential knowledge on eligibility, procedures, and safety protocols.
This orientation helped ensure that every participant would feel informed and ready to donate with confidence.

Held on the ground floor of the Black Building, the drive began at 8:00 AM and welcomed 64 employees from various departments. While 53 were able to proceed with blood donations, only 51 units were successfully collected, as some were deferred due to low hemoglobin levels, health concerns, or other medical reasons.
Despite the challenges, the event drew strong support and active participation—proof that many UBI employees were eager to contribute to a life-saving cause.
The blood donation process was carried out with care, professionalism, and safety as top priorities. It included:
1. Registration and vital signs check
2. Weight confirmation (minimum 50 kg required)
3. Completion of donor health forms and health screening interview
4. Hemoglobin testing
5. Medical evaluation by a physician
6. Blood extraction (based on donor’s weight and blood pressure: either 350cc or 450cc)
Each step followed national guidelines to protect the donor and ensure the quality of blood collected.
To help donors stay healthy and recover quickly, organizers provided practical reminders:
● Hydrate well and get at least 6–8 hours of sleep
● Avoid alcohol 24 hours prior
● Eat a light, non-fatty meal
● Avoid smoking for 2 hours
● Drink 8–10 glasses of fluids
● Refrain from heavy lifting or intense activity for 24 hours
● Keep the bandage on for at least 4 hours
● Rest and elevate legs if feeling dizzy
The entire process took around 30 minutes per donor, from registration to recovery—making it an effortless and accessible way to make a big impact.
As emphasized during the orientation, human blood cannot be manufactured—it can only come from generous individuals who choose to give. Through this initiative, Ulticon employees stepped up to answer that call.
More than a company-led health activity, the blood donation drive became a moment of unity, kindness, and service—reminding everyone that being a hero doesn’t require a cape, only a willing heart.
Ulticon remains committed to supporting life-saving causes and empowering its workforce to become part of something bigger. Blood donors truly are heroes—and at Ulticon, we’re proud to call many of them our own.
Ulticon Builders Inc. expresses its full support for government initiatives aimed at enhancing transparency and strengthening public trust in infrastructure projects, including the launch of sumbongsapangulo.ph.
As a Quadruple “A” general contractor with over 500 completed projects nationwide, our role remains clear: to support national development through compliant and high-quality infrastructure that improves lives and strengthens communities.
Under the leadership of President and Chairman Carlos “Charlie” S. Gonzalez, Ulticon has built a legacy grounded in integrity, technical excellence, and a strong commitment to public service. Since 1992, we have operated independently of political affiliations and have consistently partnered with various administrations.
We are guided by our core values of Integrity, Excellence, Teamwork, Health and Safety, Innovation, and Care. These principles shape every aspect of our work and reflect our unwavering commitment to serve the Filipino people with professionalism and pride.
We continue to stand by our work, support our people, and stay true to our purpose of building infrastructure that drives progress and earns the lasting trust of the communities we serve.
At Ulticon Builders Inc., we believe that building infrastructure is only part of our mission. Equally important is our dedication to improving lives and creating opportunities for communities. Since our founding in 1992 by Carlos “Charlie” S. Gonzalez, our President and Chairman, this vision has guided every step of our journey. For us, Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is not simply an obligation—it is an opportunity to drive meaningful and lasting change. By integrating CSR into our operations, we contribute to the socio-economic development of Filipinos, particularly in underserved regions.
Grounded in our values of integrity, excellence, innovation, teamwork, health and safety, and care, our CSR initiatives tackle pressing societal challenges while fostering growth and inclusivity. From empowering Indigenous Peoples to aiding disaster-stricken areas, improving healthcare access, and supporting education and livelihoods, Ulticon Builders extends its impact far beyond construction.
Mindanao, home to Ulticon Builders, is a region rich in culture and history. Among its most valuable contributors are Indigenous Peoples (IPs), who are stewards of its heritage. Despite their importance, many IP communities face barriers to basic services and economic growth.
Ulticon Builders Inc. has long been dedicated to empowering these groups. Through the Mindanao Indigenous Peoples Conference for Peace & Development, we foster collaboration among leaders to promote peace and sustainable development. This program reflects our belief that long-term success comes from solutions tailored to a community’s unique needs.
We have also donated to the Ubo Manuvu Agro Forest Farmers Association, supporting agricultural and livelihood programs that enhance economic resilience. Additionally, Ulticon has funded the construction of school buildings and access roads in remote areas, ensuring children can pursue education while connecting communities to larger economic networks.
By ensuring no one is left behind, Ulticon Builders demonstrates its unwavering commitment to inclusive progress, creating opportunities where they are needed most.
As a company dedicated to nation-building, Ulticon Builders Inc. recognizes the need to step up during times of crisis. The Philippines’ vulnerability to natural disasters, such as typhoons and earthquakes, demands swift and decisive action to help affected families and communities.
Our disaster relief operations provide essential goods like food, water, and hygiene kits to those in need. Beyond emergency relief, we participate in rebuilding efforts that strengthen communities and prepare them for future challenges.
Aligned with our core value of Health and Safety, we also design resilient infrastructure that can endure the effects of natural calamities. This proactive approach ensures that our projects not only support development but also safeguard lives and livelihoods.
Health and well-being are essential to community development, which is why Ulticon Builders actively supports initiatives that promote access to healthcare. One of our proudest partnerships is with Operation Smile, a program that provides free surgical care to children with cleft lips and palates. These life-changing interventions improve not only physical health but also self-esteem and future opportunities for children.
During the Covid-19 pandemic, Ulticon contributed significantly to public health by donating test kits, personal protective equipment (PPE), and other supplies to hospitals, local governments, and the Department of Health. Additionally, we organized a vaccination drive for our personnel, ensuring their safety while maintaining project continuity.
Our commitment to health underscores the value we place on care—for our employees, our communities, and the nation.
Education and livelihood development are central to Ulticon Builders’ CSR programs, as both are critical drivers of progress. In remote areas, we have built school facilities that provide children with safe, conducive learning environments. These efforts help lay the foundation for a brighter future by empowering the next generation.
To support economic development, we fund cooperative programs and skill-building initiatives that enable individuals to secure stable incomes. These projects are designed to break the cycle of poverty, creating long-term self-sufficiency and growth for communities.
By focusing on education and livelihoods, Ulticon Builders fosters resilience and sustainable progress for Filipinos in need.
For Ulticon Builders, Corporate Social Responsibility is more than just a side initiative—it’s a core component of our mission. Infrastructure may connect places, but CSR connects people, enabling them to grow and thrive together. Through our work, we aim to address the diverse needs of society, ensuring that no one is left behind.
Our efforts to support Indigenous Peoples, disaster recovery, health initiatives, and education reflect our deep commitment to creating a more equitable and inclusive Philippines. Every project—whether it’s a road, bridge, or school—is a testament to our belief that progress is not just measured in kilometers or concrete but in the lives we touch and improve.
As one of the country’s leading construction companies, Ulticon Builders Inc. is dedicated to leaving a legacy of positive change. Through our Corporate Social Responsibility programs, we aim to empower communities, strengthen resilience, and create opportunities for a better future.

This achievement is the result of the collective effort of our employees, safety officers, and management team. Ulticon Builders Inc. was founded in 1992 by brothers Carlos “Charlie” S. Gonzalez and the late Engr. Raul “Sonny” S. Gonzalez with the vision of driving socio-economic growth in Mindanao. Starting as a modest construction firm, Ulticon focused on delivering infrastructure projects that improved connectivity in underserved areas, transforming remote communities and boosting economic opportunities.
By 1997, Ulticon had already completed hundreds of kilometers of roads and bridges, solidifying its reputation as a reliable and high-quality contractor. These early successes laid the groundwork for the company’s rise as one of the most trusted names in the Philippine construction industry.
Under the leadership of Carlos S. Gonzalez, Ulticon steadily expanded its presence across Regions X, XI, and XII, taking on increasingly ambitious projects that demonstrated its expertise in delivering high-quality infrastructure. Over the years, the company has successfully completed more than 500 projects, including roads, bridges, flood control systems, and highways.
