On February 18-19, 2017 the Blue Cup Football Festival tournament was held at Tionko field and was successfully completed over the weekend. The sports event was organized through the initiative of the Mayor’s Office of Davao and co-sponsored by Ulticon Builders Inc. with founder Mr. Charlie Gonzalez. He honestly believes in giving these children the necessary support which will help them develop their own respective potentials.
As the soccer field filled with excitement and joy the crowd cheered on with all their hearts while the players played with determination and gave their best to achieve that victory. One of the emerging champions is the Seagull Football Club of Ateneo de Davao University (AdDU) who captured two Blue Cup Crowns of the girls’ under-13 category as they conquered their competitor with a convincing win via penalty shootout 3-2.
Ateneo assistant coach Reynalyn Ranada Ravanes explained and said that “Their team and Khanj FC were tied at one-all at the end of the regulation to force a shootout.” The successful Blue Cup Football Festival tournament ended with a glorious moment of its awarding ceremony as the players and their coaches received their plaques and medals with a memorable triumphant group photo.
Once again, Ulticon is delighted to be part of this tournament and to humbly contribute with this type of sport event every year to support our youth for their better future. Congratulations to all the winners until next year!
Ulticon Builders Incorporated (UBI) with the guidance of Charlie Gonzalez of Davao City collaborates and works together with the Philippine Red Cross in its programs. This is a joint effort to meet the need for blood by patients requiring blood transfusion or those who are in critical care. At par with this is the effective vision of UBI that it is always ready to help and assist those in need. That is why on November of 2016, employees at UBI willingly participated in the Red Cross Mobile Blood Donation to donate blood which was conducted at the company lobby, in Ma-a Road Davao City.
The purpose of the blood donor recruitment is to increase the national blood requirement, with which The Philippine Red Cross (PRC) conducts regular educational activities to encourage authorized voluntary blood donations from different universities, communities, and companies throughout the country. Strategically, the PRC blood service facilities located throughout the country collects their blood donation that reaches a 50% share of our nation’s blood supply.
But, aside from giving life, the question is what health benefits do you get from donating blood regularly? According to Organic Facts it helps stimulate good blood cell production, reducing risk of cancer, prevents hemochromatosis, healthier individual weight, and maintains a healthier heart and liver.
Ulticon Builders Incorporated’s drive towards helping others is always to build a healthier and brighter future for all Filipinos in many different ways it possibly can, and thanks Philippine Red Cross for the opportunity to do so in this collaborative effort.

Ulticon started with only four employees in a small office in Davao City. Back then, they handled small projects (E.g. school buildings) that they could handle.
In 2000, They ventured road construction. Construction works opportunity opened up to the company. It was awarded various contracts from different government agencies, a just reward for its having completed its previous projects on time and at high standards of quality.
In 2006, Carlos “Charlie” S. Gonzalez was blessed with more projects, so he had to transfer their operations in a building in Quimpo Boulevard.
In 2009, They passed three ISO certificates, namely: EMS, QMS and OHSMS. This was certainly in the books, because this would mean they could now bid projects that would cost P100 million and up.
As of Today, they have 1303 employees. This was a dream fulfilling experience for an upstart company headed by its founder and president, Mr. Carlos “Charlie” S. Gonzalez and his brother Engr. Raul “Sonny” S. Gonzalez.
Ulticon is determined to keep meeting an impeccable reputation of top-quality work and delivering customer satisfaction to everyone that partners with them. Each person in Ulticon strives to deliver consistent, superior service to uphold regulatory requirements that benefit the company.
Carlos “Charlie” Gonzalez attributes Ulticon’s success to its employees’ dedication to excellent work, customer service that exceeds expectations, and a safety program that led the company to zero accidents in the field.
Since 2009, Ulticon has been accredited under three different sets of standards published by the International Organization for Standardization or ISO. These are ISO 14001-2004 or Environmental Management System (EMS), ISO 18001-2007 or Occupational Health and Safety Management System (OHSMS) and ISO 9001-2008 or Quality Management System (QMS). And the year 2016 is no different. Ulticon, through the efforts of its employees, have once again passed the set of standards put by ISO in acknowledgement of the safe and excellent procedures the company.
We ask people from the admin team of Ulticon Builders, “Describe Ulticon in one word.” And most of them answered “Family.” It brings joy and happiness to the leaders of Ulticon that they’ve instilled the feeling of belongingness to their employees. It has always been the dream of the founders to not only build bridges to communities but to build bridges to people as well. This culture has been achieved through understanding each other in the company, no matter who you are. A quality company culture is one of the hardest workplace qualities to obtain, because the investment is time.
Carlos “Charlie” Gonzalez, Vice-President of Ulticon Builders, understands the importance of having a company culture.
Your company culture defines the way in which your organization interacts with one another and how the team interacts with the outside world, specifically your partners and suppliers.
It’s the formula that guides the team, as well as inspires and motivates employees. It is also responsible for attracting and retaining great talent, as well as creating a fun, happy and exciting work environment.
A great company culture also attracts a great partner which, in turn, creates great success! People will want to do business with you because of what you believe in and stand for, rather than solely on your products alone. Understanding this principle will quickly allow you to see the importance of company culture.
Trees beautify our environment but Carlos “Charlie” Gonzalez of Ulticon Builders understand that their values lie beyond the aesthetics. They remove carbon dioxide from the atmosphere, increase biodiversity in our environment, prevent soil erosion, as well as provide shade and lower the atmospheric temperature.
Carlos “Charlie” Gonzalez of Ulticon Builders, Inc. invited members of the said company to join a tree planting event that was held on the 6th of May 2016. A grand total of 40 people volunteered to show support for the event, which was geared to help secure the future of our environment for the generations to come. With help from the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) Region XI, 400 seedlings of tree was planted at the quarrying area (Marilog District) to restore brownfield areas and to help fight climate change and global warming which is a threat to the natural habitat of wildlife in the world.
We will act locally and save globally.
Ulticon Builders Inc. Davao, supervised by Carlos Gonzalez, has always looked for ways to improve the quality of their work and to finish it faster.
The activities involved in Construction Projects where the magnitude of the work is on a large scale, speedy work and timely completion of work with quality control are very vital. In order to achieve this, Carlos Gonzalez believes that mechanization of work has to be done, where Construction Machinery & Equipment play a pivotal role.
The times are changing and in order for Ulticon to maintain the high quality standards required by present-day design and specifications, new equipment must be utilized. Ulticon also desires to eliminate the heavy manual work by human thus reducing fatigue and eliminates various hazards and health issues on their employees.
It is a common fact that we find a variety of construction machines on every construction site, which makes the construction jobs easy, safe and quicker. Ulticon Builders Inc. vigorously pursue the efficient utilization of labor, material and equipment. The use of new equipment and innovative methods has made possible wholesale changes in the processes of Ulticon Builders Inc.
Helping the impoverished means different things to different people, but that’s the beauty of it. In the case of Ulticon Builders Inc., not only have they been affecting the lives of travelers, but most importantly the lives of the locals. Ulticon Builders Inc., throughout the years, has given employment to a large number of skilled labourers in the local neighborhood, who earn food and cash to secure their basic needs and improve their livelihood.
Ulticon has also helped in promoting locally produced tools (e.g. hammer) which can be maintained and produced. During road construction, local workers acquire skills that can be beneficial to them in day-to-day life (e.g. house construction) or even help them land a job. Ulticon Builders, headed by Carlos Gonzalez, has given hope to the locals knowing that their home and land have started developing.
Roads play an important role for overcoming the isolation of the villages. It provides a much needed opportunity for the village population to come in contact with other groups of the society, which in turn inculcates in them a sense of being a part of national main stream in its prosperity and progress. The areas heretofore inaccessible become easy to reach for administrative and welfare agencies particularly in tunes of natural calamities and for relief operations whenever needed.
Helping the locals has always been one of the aspirations of Carlos Gonzalez, and continue to be.
Through the efforts of Carlos Gonzalez, Davao-based Ulticon Builders Inc. won the bid to construct a major road in Mindanao. The road project involves the concreting of the existing dirt road and the opening of portions that connects the province of Bukidnon to Davao del Norte.
The 56-kilometer road is named Kapalong Talaingod Road. The construction of Kapalong Talaingod Road, a national highway from Valencia City to Tagum City, now eases the transport of goods to and from both cities.
It has always been a passion for everyone in Ulticon to help the indigenous people. The same passion fueled Ulticon Builders Inc. to see to it that Kapalong Talaingod Road in a timely manner. Today, the road is accessible for the people of Mindanao and tourists to experience.
As an alternate road to the Davao-Calinan-Bukidnon Road, the road now cuts the travel time by half between Davao del Norte and Bukidnon. The project’s total length from Talaingod to the Bukidnon boundary is about 56 kilometers. This 56-kilometer stretch of road incites economic opportunities in the region and the whole of Mindanao. The road doesn’t only promote agri-business but also the tourism industry of the Davao Region.
