The 2nd Police Chief Superintendent Elmo Francis O. Sarona National Shooting Challenge Level 1 was held in December 2016 at La Trinidad, Benguet, more specifically in Police Regional Office Cordillera’s Firing Range, in Camp Bado, Dangwa. The event was supported by Ulticon Builders, Incorporated headed by Carlos “Charlie” Gonzalez of Davao City, along with the events co-donors namely San Miguel Corporation, PSSLAI, and Trust Trade. The event is sanctioned by Philippine Shooters Match Officials Confederation (PSMOC) and Philippine Institute of Firearms Instructors Association (PIFIA).
Event coordinator Jose Ortalla, Jr. prior to the event met with local media to say “We are expecting the best shooters to compete in this event. The participants will undergo an effective safety measure during the competition.”
The National Shooting Challenge which had more than 200 shooters from all over the country, had the following stages lined up for its participants for Level I PSA handgun and shotgun match event: Parking lot encounter, Mall robbery and Hotel Lobby Hold Up. As for their Level 1 PSA handgun and mini rifle event, it had the following stages: Spinning balls, the Pirate, the storage plant, the warehouse, Raid on Sosia Lobby, Abandoned Building, Guard Inspection and in search of the target.
Ulticon Builders, Incorporated of Davao City, is truly honored to have been part of this event, and supports our police force in it’s advocacy to give importance to gun safety not just for our local police men and women, but to guns and shooting enthusiasts in the country or those who consider shooting as a sport.
Ulticon Builders, Inc. (UBI) under the leadership of Mr. Carlos “Charlie” Gonzalez of Davao City supports the advocacies and goals of the Mindanao Indigenous Peoples Conference for Peace and Development (MIPCPD) which is to be a catalyst in promoting peace, providing sustainable livelihood, and to initiate and push for construction and development projects that will benefit our indigenous tribes and cultural communities.
What kind of an organization is MIPCPD and what are their objectives for our local tribes? Basically, MIPCPD was formally registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) on January 9, 2008 and was certified by the National Commission on Indigenous People (NCIP) Region XI and the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Region XI, as partner IP Organization in unity for peace and development.
Meaning, MIPCPD works in support of our government and aims to extend partnerships with industry stakeholders in projects that will benefit the aboriginal people of a certain ancestral land territory as stated in Republic Act 8371, which states “the rights and welfare of the ICCs/IPs, particularly their clamor on land tenure security and the recognition of their freedom to make choices under the rubric of human rights and development”.
Hence, Ulticon Builders, Inc., in the presence of MIPCPD’s Executive Director Datu Bawan Tagaenod and his team, has expressed its strong commitment and full support to MIPCPD’s Adopt a Tribal Community (AATC) project in Tambobong, Baguio District. UBI is honored to have been selected as the principal contributor of this project
