Rooted in Care: UBI Plants Trees and Shares the Love

In celebration of International Wetlands Day and Valentine’s Day 2025, Ulticon Builders Inc. brought together environmental action, community outreach, and employee engagement in a morning full of meaningful Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) efforts that captured the company’s enduring values: Care, Responsibility, and Teamwork.

The joint celebration, held on February 14, 2025, embodied Ulticon’s commitment to go beyond project delivery—by building relationships, protecting the environment, and enriching the lives of those in the communities we serve.

Nurturing Nature with Purpose

The day began in Brgy. Sumimao, Paquibato District, Davao City, where employees participated in a tree planting activity and Information Education Campaign (IEC) in partnership with the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) – CENRO Region XI. The event was led by Bheberhim V. Nodado, Pollution Control Officer under the Occupational, Safety, Health, and Environment Section (OSHE).
Held in observance of International Wetlands Day, the initiative emphasized the importance of conserving wetlands—ecosystems that play a critical role in biodiversity, climate stability, and water resource management.

As an ISO 14001:2015- Environmental Management System-certified organization, Ulticon is committed to sustainable practices that support both people and the planet. Guided by the leadership of President and Chairman Carlos “Charlie” Gonzalez, UBI integrates environmental responsibility into its operations—ensuring progress that respects nature and uplifts communities.

Employees from all departments joined the tree planting, with two representatives each department participating in the ecological restoration efforts. Through the IEC, participants also gained a deeper understanding of wetland ecosystems and their value in disaster prevention and sustainable development.

Giving Back to Brgy. Sumimao

In addition to the environmental initiative, Ulticon extended its CSR program to support the local community. Employees were encouraged to donate essential items such as clothing, slippers, and basic supplies in the weeks leading up to the event.

These donations were distributed to residents of Brgy. Sumimao during the activity, reinforcing Ulticon’s hands-on approach to community care. The outreach effort aimed not only to meet immediate needs but also to foster connections and show solidarity with underserved communities.

Celebrating Connections at the UBI Main Office

Later that afternoon, employees returned to the UBI Compound Grounds for a Valentine’s Day celebration designed to bring joy, connection, and lighthearted energy to the workplace.

All employees were invited to wear colors symbolizing their relationship status—from red for “in a relationship” to white for “single”—sparking laughter and camaraderie across the organization.
The event featured interactive games including:

● Mixed and Matched (Couple Edition) – The winning pair received a dinner at a fine-dining restaurant
● Men are from Mars, Women are from Venus – Each winner received PHP 500
● Tell Me – With PHP 500 awarded to each winning participant

Employees also enjoyed a Jam with UBI Sessionistas music session, creating a relaxed atmosphere where teams could enjoy live performances and end the workday on a high note.

Flexing Love from Afar

While the celebration took place at the head office, employees stationed in Regions X, XI, and XIII participated through a Valentine-themed social media contest. Through the campaign #UBIVALENTINES2025, they shared photos with their romantic partners, spouses, or loved ones, along with heartfelt captions.

One winner from each region was awarded PHP 2,000, recognizing sincerity, creativity, and spirit. The online initiative allowed project-based employees to feel equally part of the company culture, regardless of location.

More Than a Celebration

The February 14 activities were more than a celebration—they were a reflection of what Ulticon stands for. Through the combined power of environmental advocacy, community support, and internal engagement, Ulticon once again demonstrated that its commitment to building extends far beyond physical
infrastructure.

With leadership that champions sustainability and compassion, Ulticon Builders Inc. continues to prove that true progress means leaving no one behind—not the land, not the people, and not the employees who make it all possible.
