At Ulticon Builders Inc., excellence is not left to chance. It is the product of precise planning, honest evaluation, and purposeful collaboration. As a trusted Quadruple A general contractor, Ulticon continues to deliver vital infrastructure across the country while ensuring that every project is backed by a highly coordinated and well-supported workforce.
In line with this commitment, the company recently held a major Coordination Meeting that brought together operations executives, project managers, and key department heads to assess project performance and manpower alignment. More than a routine meeting, this was an opportunity to take a deeper look at progress and explore smarter, more proactive ways to keep every project moving forward.
Guided by our core values and the leadership of Carlos “Charlie” Gonzalez, Ulticon continues to build not only the country’s roads, bridges, and highways but also a culture of excellence driven by people who take responsibility for results.
A primary objective of the meeting was to align actual accomplishments against projected timelines. Each project team presented a detailed status report, offering insights into their completed milestones and ongoing deliverables. These figures were carefully reviewed and compared with their original schedules.
This process allows project managers and department leads to identify delays, pinpoint root causes, and develop appropriate action plans. It also reinforces accountability across all levels, reminding every team that success is measured not just in completion, but in consistent progress.
Project completion is never simply about pouring concrete or raising steel. It is a combination of
resource planning, workflow coordination, weather monitoring, and timely execution. Through this meeting, Ulticon made it clear that progress must be intentional and well-managed.
A major portion of the coordination meeting was dedicated to workforce planning and payroll management. This is a critical area for any construction company, but especially for one as large and diverse as Ulticon Builders Inc.
Human Resources, together with Operations, presented updates on current site staffing, worker mobilization timelines, and project-specific labor needs. Departments discussed ways to improve deployment, balance site workloads, and avoid redundancy or labor gaps.
Payroll was also a central part of the discussion. Ensuring that all employees, from office staff to
site workers, are paid on time and accurately is one of Ulticon’s top priorities. As a company that values its people, fair and prompt compensation is part of how we maintain trust, loyalty, and productivity across teams.
By reviewing these items in a joint session, we create an environment where administrative and technical departments work together toward shared goals.
Delays are an inevitable part of construction. However, they do not have to derail an entire project. With the right interventions and timely decision-making, delays can be managed and even prevented.
During the coordination meeting, several project heads raised concerns regarding delivery lead
times, site access, and weather interruptions. In each case, solutions were proposed immediately, with relevant departments offering support. Procurement committed to expedite critical materials, Engineering advised on design modifications to reduce downtime, and Fleet Management proposed alternative equipment routing.
This kind of solution-focused conversation is what sets Ulticon apart. Instead of allowing challenges to stack up, we address them head-on, bringing together expertise from all sides to keep projects on schedule.
This meeting showed that proactive problem-solving is not just a practice. At Ulticon, it is a
mindset.
The meeting was led by Vice President for Operations Ruben M. Garcia, Executive for HR and Admin Susan Quintans, and AVP for HR and Admin Atty. Kristine Javier. Their guidance provided structure to the discussion and clarity to the decisions being made.
They emphasized the importance of acting quickly when issues arise and supporting field teams with the tools and personnel they need to stay productive. They also reinforced the company’s expectation for regular performance tracking and accurate reporting.
It is this leadership that has allowed Ulticon to scale without losing sight of operational integrity.
From the executive team down to project-in-charge officers, Ulticon leaders are expected to not only manage but inspire.
And it is working. With more than 2,000 employees and over 500 completed projects, Ulticon’s leadership framework is a proven model of efficiency and accountability.
Throughout the meeting, one message was clear: the success of our projects reflects the strength of our systems, the quality of our decisions, and the dedication of our people. This is a philosophy deeply rooted in the leadership of Carlos “Charlie” Gonzalez Ulticon co-founder and Chairman. For over three decades, his guidance has shaped the company’s focus on high standards, innovative thinking, and people-centered growth.
Carlos Charlie Gonzalez Ulticon believes that infrastructure is not just about construction. It is
about transformation. And for transformation to happen, both the project and the people behind it must be aligned and empowered.
That belief continues to drive Ulticon forward—through planning sessions like this and through every milestone we deliver.
Another significant outcome of the coordination meeting was improved interdepartmental alignment. Fleet Management, Procurement, Engineering, HR, and Admin functions all presented updates and offered input during the project assessments.
This inclusive format fosters unity across departments that might otherwise operate in isolation. It also promotes a more agile work culture where collaboration is not just encouraged but expected.
Ulticon knows that success in construction depends not only on individual performance but also on how well departments work together. Meetings like this reinforce that teamwork is not optional. It is essential.
As Ulticon continues to expand its reach across Regions X, XI, XII, XIII, and Metro Manila, the importance of coordination cannot be overstated. Each region presents unique challenges, but through sessions like this, the company ensures that every team remains aligned with corporate objectives.
Target-setting at the conclusion of the meeting ensured that everyone walked away with clear goals and action points. Deadlines were established, responsibilities were defined, and follow-ups were scheduled.
This level of structure is how Ulticon maintains consistency in quality and delivery, no matter the
size or scope of a project.
While Ulticon’s reputation is built on landmark projects and national recognition, its foundation is
its people. Our engineers, procurement officers, machine operators, safety personnel, and admin staff are the real reason we are able to deliver excellence day after day.
The Coordination Meeting was not just about systems and statistics. It was a reaffirmation of Ulticon’s commitment to invest in its people, to listen, and to lead with purpose.
Every discussion, every decision, and every solution crafted in that room contributes to the larger vision we hold—building a better Philippines by building better teams, better structures, and better systems.
With the successful completion of the Coordination Meeting, Ulticon Builders Inc. once again demonstrated its commitment to proactive project management, employee welfare, and operational transparency.
As we move forward, we do so with stronger alignment, clearer goals, and deeper respect for the work that lies ahead.
